Today's Trickiest Clue
Metapod shows up twice today — once as the Europe Silhouette answer and again as the America Card answer — which is a good reminder that Pokedle doesn't avoid repeats across modes on the same day. If you're stuck on a silhouette that looks like a smooth, segmented capsule with no visible limbs, an evolution-stage Bug type is usually a safer first guess than a fully-evolved one.
How Each Pokedle Mode Works
Classic
You guess a Pokémon by name and get feedback across categories like type, generation, and evolution stage — closer to a stat-comparison puzzle than a straight silhouette guess. Narrowing by generation first tends to eliminate the most options fastest.
Silhouette
You see only the outline. Body shape tells you far more than size does — ear shape, tail length, and whether there are visible wings rule out entire evolutionary lines quickly.
Flavor Text
A line from the Pokédex entry, stripped of the Pokémon's name. These often describe behavior or habitat rather than appearance, so it helps to think about which Pokémon are known for a specific trait (nocturnal, aggressive, found near water) rather than picturing what they look like.
Card
A cropped, blurred trading-card-style image. Border color and energy-type icons in the corner are usually visible even when the artwork itself is too blurry to identify — that's the fastest way to narrow the type before guessing a name.

How we keep this accurate
- Answers are pulled from the live puzzle right after the 06:00 UTC reset for both regions.
- An editor confirms each mode's Pokémon against the actual game before the page goes live — nothing is carried over from a previous day's template.
- If the two regions overlap on a Pokémon, we note it rather than quietly editing it away.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the same Pokémon appear in more than one mode on the same day?
Yes — as today's set shows with Metapod appearing in both Europe's Silhouette mode and America's Card mode.
Does Pokedle only use Pokémon from certain games?
The pool draws from across the mainline series rather than a single generation, so older and newer Pokémon both show up regularly.
What happens if I misspell a Pokémon's name?
Most versions use an autocomplete dropdown, so minor typos usually get caught before you submit — check for regional name spelling differences if a clearly correct guess isn't accepted.
Is Pokedle made by Nintendo or The Pokémon Company?
No — it's an independent fan project. Pokémon names and designs belong to their respective rights holders.
