What's Actually Notable About Today's Set

Heimerdinger's "Eureka!" line trips people up in Quote mode because it's short and generic-sounding compared to more character-specific taunts β€” if you're stuck, think about which champions have a habit of shouting single exclamations rather than full sentences. Leona's Ability answer is a good Ability-mode reminder that shield and stun abilities on tanky supports get confused with each other constantly; check the ability's exact name rather than just its effect. And on the America side, Malphite's "Rock solid." is about as literal as quote hints get once you know his kit is entirely rock-themed.

How Each LoLdle Mode Actually Works

Classic

You type a champion name and the game tells you how close you are across attributes like release year, species, resource type, and range. It plays a lot like Wordle with categories instead of letters β€” a wrong guess still narrows the field if you pay attention to which attributes matched.

Quote

You get one voice line with no other context. The trick is that recognizable quotes ("Eureka!", "Rock solid.") are often the least distinctive-sounding ones out loud, so it helps to think about a champion's personality or catchphrase style rather than trying to place the exact line from memory.

Ability

You're shown an ability icon or name and have to guess the champion who owns it. Champions who've had multiple reworks (Ability names shift with balance patches) are the ones that trip people up most, since the wiki entry you remember may be outdated.

Emoji

A short emoji string represents a champion's lore or kit. These lean on very literal associations β€” an emoji set built around fire, wolves, or claws usually points at a small, well-known pool of champions rather than an obscure pick.

Splash Art

A zoomed or cropped piece of splash art. Color palette is the fastest clue: cool blues and purples skew mage-heavy, while warm oranges and reds tend toward fighters and marksmen skins.

Repeat champions are common: the same champion can appear across the EU and NA answer sets on the same day, and can reappear within a week or two β€” don't assume a champion is "used up" once you've seen it.

How we keep this accurate

  • The day's answers are pulled from the live puzzle at each region's reset time.
  • An editor checks the pulled champion names, quotes, and ability names against the actual game before publishing β€” we don't auto-generate lore notes without checking them against what's actually on the page that day.
  • If a note about a quote or emoji doesn't match the listed answer, it gets removed rather than left in from an older draft.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do EU and America always get different champions?

Usually, yes β€” the two regions run on separate reset schedules, so it's common but not guaranteed for all five modes to differ between them on a given day.

Why wasn't my ability name accepted?

LoLdle generally wants the ability's actual in-game name rather than a nickname, though short forms of well-known abilities are often accepted β€” check spelling first.

Can the same champion appear in more than one mode on the same day?

Yes, it happens occasionally β€” Classic, Quote, Ability, Emoji, and Splash Art are pulled independently, so overlap isn't prevented.

Is LoLdle affiliated with Riot Games?

No β€” it's an unofficial fan project that uses champion names, quotes, and art for puzzle purposes; all League of Legends IP belongs to Riot Games.
