How Each Smashdle Mode Works
Classic
A straight character guess with feedback on attributes like series of origin, weight class, and number of jumps. Series is usually the fastest filter — narrowing to "Metroid" or "Fire Emblem" cuts the roster down immediately.
Emoji
A string of emojis standing in for a character's series, weapon, or gimmick. Fighting-game guest characters tend to get emoji sets built around their signature move rather than their series logo, so think move-first for crossover fighters like Ryu or Joker.
Silhouette
An outline only. Ear shape and weapon silhouette (sword, gun, cape) narrow things fast — round-eared, short characters skew toward Kirby, Pokémon, and Animal Crossing picks.
Final Smash
You're shown a description or effect of a character's ultimate move and have to name the character. This mode rewards knowing which Final Smashes transform the stage versus which just deal a big hit — that split alone removes half the roster.
Kirby Copy
You see what Kirby looks like after copying a character's ability and have to name the source character. The copy ability usually keeps a recognizable color or prop from the original moveset, which is the fastest tell.
